Todd Schwedt, MD is a Professor, Chair of Research for the Department of Neurology, clinician, and researcher in the Headache and Concussion Section of the Department of Neurology at the Mayo Clinic Arizona. He is the principal investigator of the Mayo Clinic Neuroimaging of Headache Laboratory. The laboratory utilizes functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging modalities to investigate the pathophysiology and sequelae of concussion and headaches and to develop multivariable models of imaging and clinical data that classify headache disorders and differentiate amongst them. He is a principal investigator of the American Registry for Migraine Research (ARMR) and the Medication Overuse Treatment Strategy (MOTS) Trial. His research has been continuously funded via grants and contracts from the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense, the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute, Mayo Clinic, Arizona State University, and medical foundations. Dr. Schwedt is on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the American Headache Society, the Board of Trustees for the International Headache Society, and he is the Chairman of the Post-Traumatic Headache Working Group for the International Classification of Headache Disorders.
