Rebecca Fasano MD
Dr. Fasano obtained her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. She completed her neurology residency at Rush University Medical School in Chicago, followed by a two year fellowship in epilepsy at the National Institutes of Health. She worked as a civilian neurologisr for five years at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, DC, where she served as the director of the EEG laboratory and the epilepsy surgery program. While at Walter Reed, Dr. Fasano was heavily involved in resident and fellow education; she also served as the neurology clerkship director for two years. Dr. Fasano joined the faculty at Emory University School of Medicine in 2014. She served as the medical director of the Emory Epilepsy Monitoring Unit until 2016, when she became the neurology residency program director. Dr. Fasano is passionate about resident education, and since she took over the residency program, she has instituted several changes to decrease resident burnout and improve well-being. She was a recipient of the 2018 AAN AB Baker Teacher Recognition Award. Dr. Fasano lives in Atlanta with her 8-year-old son, 3-year-old daughter, and several pets.
