CDR Matt Breiding PhD joined the U.S. Public Health Service in 2005, first serving as an Epidemic Intelligence Service officer in the Division of Violence Prevention at CDC. His work focused primarily on the public health surveillance of intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and child maltreatment. He contributed to the development and implementation of the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey. In 2014, he moved to CDC’s Division of Unintentional Injury Prevention where he serves as the Traumatic Brain Injury Team Lead. In this capacity he has worked with the team to develop the National Concussion Surveillance System.
