Mathieu Bourdenx PhD

Dr. Mathieu Bourdenx is a research fellow at the Department of Developmental and Molecular Biology of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He obtained his Ph.D. in Neuroscience and Neuropharmacology from the University of Bordeaux (France) in 2015. He joined the laboratory of Prof. Ana Maria Cuervo in 2017 for postdoctoral training.
Dr. Bourdenx is interested in the understanding protein aggregation and associated proteostasis defects in the context of neurodegenerative diseases and aging; especially the mechanisms of aggregate formation through defects of the autophagy/lysosomal system.
Dr. Bourdenx has been recipient of the Monique Garnier-Semancik award and the University of Bordeaux doctoral award for the best Ph.D. thesis.
