Late Breaking Abstracts

The Late Breaking Abstract category emphasizes ongoing clinical or basic research of an extraordinary nature which warrants expedited presentation. The research must be new and of sufficient scientific importance to merit expedited presentation and publication. Key aspects of the research must have been conducted after April 23, 2018.

Late Breaking Abstracts will be prominently displayed during the poster sessions at the Annual Meeting. A limited number of abstracts are selected, with selection based on scientific merit, timeliness, and anticipated interest to the membership.

Please note: The main 2018 ANA Call for Abstracts process closed on April 23, 2018.

Acceptance notifications will be emailed to the presenting/contact authors in July 2018. 

If you wish to withdraw your abstract or are unable to attend 143rd ANA Annual Meeting, please email by Friday, September 7th.

2018 Abstract Fees

Payment is determined by the submitter's ANA membership account status.

Accepted abstracts are organized into scientific poster sessions.  The presenting /contact author will receive specific presentation information including the date and time of their poster presentation, an assigned poster number and poster guidelines.


Sunday, October 21, Noon - 7:00 pm
Poster presenters will be in attendance from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Monday, October 22, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm
Poster presenters will be in attendance from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm


Please note that the abstract fee does not include registration to the annual meeting.  The presenting/contact authors are expected to register for the 143rd ANA Annual Meeting and present their abstracts in a poster session.  If the presenting / contact author cannot attend, presentation by a co-author is acceptable. 

If no one can present, please email immediately to mark your abstract as “withdrawn.”
