• ANA 2018 Annual Meeting

Testimonials

  • The Annual Meeting is a great opportunity. It’s smaller and more intimate than some of the other meetings, so you get a chance to meet people, but still have a wide representation from different fields in neurology. It’s an honor to be able to stand in front of a poster and state your case for other great minds in neurology, and in basic science as well.
    Allison Snyder, MD
    Chief Neurology Resident
University of Maryland Department of Neurology
  • A lot of prominent people in the field attend this meeting, and I’ve had the opportunity to talk with them about ways to test some findings that we’ve seen experimentally, ways to extend our research more broadly into neurodegenerative disorders and other diseases. It has been really valuable to make these connections.
    Ryan Darby, MD
    Assistant Professor of Neurology
    Vanderbilt University Medical Center
  • I’ve been going to the ANA meeting for over 10 years now, since I was a resident. It has provided me opportunities to present my work, but also to meet new people who I wouldn’t have otherwise met. Certainly, they’re reviewers on your papers and grants, but also, they may be your future mentees and mentors. You just don’t know yet, so it’s exciting to see how it unfolds.
    Farrah Mateen, MD, PhD
    Associate Professor
Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School
  • I got to know many top neurologists at this meeting that lead to collaborations. This meeting is a very good opportunity to socialize with peers in the field, but also to form a basis for scientific collaboration.
    Ryosuke Takahashi, MD, PhD
Professor and Chair, Department of Neurology
Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine
  • The Annual Meeting has programming at different levels, so there’s sessions for trainees and junior faculty, mid-career and senior career folks. And I can tell you, it was so inspiring and helpful to be hearing about the experiences of other chairs and to be able to discuss topics that are really relevant to all of us
    Barbara G. Vickrey, MD, MPH
    Past President, American Neurological Association
Professor and Neurology System Chair, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
